Vacancy: Maintenance Engineer (12 Month FTC)
Location: Staffordshire
Shifts: Early, afternoon and nights
Salary: Up to £40,000 + 5% Retention Bonus

An exciting opportunity has arisen at one of the most established and reputable food manufacturing companies in the UK for a Maintenance Engineer who will effectively maintain the equipment within the factory in a manner which upholds the quality of the operation, focusing on output, product quality, cost effectiveness and the preservation and improvement of the company’s machinery.

As the Maintenance Engineer….

You’ll be proactive and responsive to breakdowns in the plant and with the equipment in a manner which meets the day-to-day needs of the production department.

You’ll prioritise, through consultation with Production Shift Manager and Maintenance Manager, the order of own workload, taking into account factory needs.

You’ll contribute to the upkeep of all relevant technical documentation.

You’ll ensure both group and individual objectives are positively progressed in line with the Maintenance Strategy, and positively contribute to site initiatives as requested (to include HACCP, TAS etc).

You’ll work with the factory planned maintenance system to both develop and complete planned maintenance routines whilst constantly monitoring the effectiveness of the system.

You’ll work within, and enhance where possible, the team working structure on the site and actively participate in team meetings with Production, Technical, external suppliers and customers.

You’ll be responsible for identifying faults and assessing and communicating the effects on production, taking into account likely times scales for resolution and consequences of downtime.


You’ll be educated to degree/equivalent level and significant experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a blue chip food manufacturing / FMCG company, ideally drinks, dairy or liquid fill.

You’ll be electrically biased with a good grasp of PLC fault finding and interrogation.
