We are are currently looking for a Buyer on behalf od our client on a temporary basis (6-month fixed term). They are looking for the right candidate to joing the team to ensure the speak to suppliers on a day to day basis to ensure the company have the right materials for production.
Job Responsibilities:
* To assist the Supply Chain Manager in planning and forecasting.
* To work to minimise product cost and overall stockholding whilst matching customer’s delivery expectations.
* To negotiate contracts with suppliers.
* To identify supply sources and to manage the working relationships.
* To lead cost reduction programmes on existing products and to work with engineering to continually reduce the cost of new products.
Person Specifications
* Good educational background - Preferably CIPS Qualified or equivalent
* Proven work experience in Purchasing, Supply chain environment
* Good Communication Skills
* Capable of promoting team working & continuous improvement activities
* Hardworking and keen to develop their role within the business
* Demonstrate a proactive and dynamic approach
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word & Excel
