We are working on behalf of a world leading engineering product manufacturer and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join their Quality team at their site in Colwick, Nottingham.
This position will be working in conjunction with the Quality Engineer to ensure that the manufactured product meets both international and customer requirements.
Duties of the Quality Inspector:-
* Inspect parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications.
* Discuss inspection results with those responsible and recommend necessary corrective action.
* Participate in site internal/external audits.
* Ensure all inspection reports are accurate.
* Assist Quality Engineer with customer concerns or complaints with the 8D format & investigation.
* Organise holiday cover or shift cover at short notice.
* Carry out final inspection on all products and complete quality documentation as required by either customer requirement, or within the site quality plan.
* Patrol the shop floor and do regular checks to ensure that product build is to the documented quality requirements.
* Deal with routine decisions of quality, report to quality engineer daily.
* Compile scrap report and provide data to quality engineer weekly.
* Understand the use of Quality tools to problem solve / resolve situations.
* Understand and use quality techniques e.g. SPC to provide statistical data when required.
* Provide cover, assistance and support other areas of the quality department when required.
* Make sensible correct decisions to forward, quarantine, or release rework etc. Control within the bonded system.
* Maintain the bonded file. Ensure they are filed and controlled correctly.
* Training, ensure large involvement in improving the skills knowledge of operators.
* Ensure standards are maintained & controlled in standards training room.
* Inspect incoming goods deliveries for the department, and report any concerns.
* Ensure office cleanliness and workplace audits are maintained.
Working Hours:
The working hours for this position will be 37.5 hours per week, based on a two shift system, (morning & afternoon shifts) 5am-1pm / 1pm-9pm rotating weekly.
Skills / Experience:
Proven experience in Quality Management ideally within an Automotive / Aerospace manufacturing environment is desirable along with good people management skills.
The successful candidate should possess good arithmetic skills, an understanding of specifications and quality requirements and have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Candidates must also be:
Competent in the use of Digital & Non Digital measuring equipment.
I.T. literate with good Microsoft office skills.
Motivated, proactive, flexible with regard to working hours and keen to learn.
Able to work well on their own as well as in a team.
Salary / Benefits:
Salary: £22,716pa + Shift Allowance (£2,948.40) Total Salary: £25,664.40pa
