Middleweight Integrated Designer
This is a brand new creative role within an international client based in Edinburgh. The team has an opening for a fully integrated Graphic Designer / Middleweight Designer. Job Description : Included in this role is the ability to develop, interpret and implement the creative brand vision across a broad range of projects ranging from digital, social, print, and motion across multi channels and market requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong design background which they will be comfortable (and enjoy) applying to digital/ e-commerce. A dynamic, thorough and enquiring approach will be required as you will be called on to be involved in (and balance the needs of) a wide range of projects and executions, with timelines ranging from the immediate to the long term. The ability to collaborate effectively is also a must. Main Duties & Responsibilities • Designer for a broad range of projects including print communication, packaging, digital and moving image. • Brand development- aid in the creation and implementation of the main brand look and feel and additionally sub-brands that are introduced to the portfolio, as well as reinvigorate and reinvent existing brands where needed. • Creation of digital design and assets for use on our e-commerce website and social media platforms. • To maintain our high visual standards and assist others in maintaining this standard. • Creation of presentation and mock-ups to present ideas/executions for approval. • To bring fresh ideas and approaches • A great eye and understanding for UI and UX. Key Skills Technical Skills: Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop essential). Additional digital skills (e.g. After Effects, Final Cut, Flash, Dreamweaver) would be an asset but not essential. • Knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3 also an asset but not essential. • Traditional typography and print skills. • Able to create artwork for print • Good communication skills You will be highly creative, and will be proactive in your approach to suggesting various solutions and options which will help the organisation stand out from the competition You will be responsible for dealing directly with suppliers including print, so you must be able to maintain great working relationships with 3rd party suppliers. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent • Have at least - 4+ years of Graphic Design experience in an agency or similar paced environment • Genuine interest in creative content, with a good understanding of the latest marketing and graphic design trends across advertising, digital, social media and more. • Exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage your own workload and help support other members of the design team • Work towards tight deadlines whilst producing a high standard of work • IT literate including email management, scheduling and filing • Able to work on numerous projects simultaneously This is a fabulous new role where you can expect to shape and develop your career.
