Connect Appointments have fantastic opportunities, on an ongoing temporary basis, to work at our clients site in central Hamilton, which produces world class products for global distribution. Our client is a market leading manufacturing site that strives to be the best in everything they do, if you have the same outlook in life then this is the job for you. The role requires all staff to be flexible in your approach to the work as shifts may change and you must understand this production role will be fast paced and you will be required to be on your feet for the duration of the 12 hour shift. Experience required: Previous experience of working within an industrial/manufacturing environment within the last few years then your skills will be transferable to the Bakery Operatives role we have on offer Driving would be advantageous for the shift times although public transport will be available for the 07:00 start time. Responsibilities include (among others): Basic operating of production/manufacturing equipment Loading and unloading materials on to production lines/machinery Carrying out routine product quality checks Packing gift products in to presentation packaging Liaising with other internal departments. Accountable for numerically accurate picking and packing of manufactured goods. Must have ability to pack at or above speed of production line. Contribute to the production of quality products in line with the Company's Quality Assurance programme applicable to line and specific products. Co-operating with peers to ensure that issues disturbing line performance are dealt with effectively. Communicating with managers to ensure that messages are clearly understood and that objectives are clear and relevant to all. Be conscious of all health and safety issues affecting the line area including the wearing of PPE such as safety footwear, adopting and implementing good housekeeping practices. The Person must have: Good practical skills with the ability to work quickly and precisely Good team working skills Ability to stay focused while doing repetitive tasks Ability to follow instructions with an awareness of health and safety Numerate and accurate as well as good written and verbal communication skills. High level of manual dexterity Must have a flexible approach to work. Demonstrate a sound understanding of manufacturing processes. What can you expect? Dayshift patterns Monday - Friday -07:00am-15:30 Ad hoc - 07:30am-18:00 Nightshift patterns Sunday - Thursday - 21:30-07:00am Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 22:30-07:00am Ad hoc - 18:00-06:00am Pay Rates are £7.83 Benefits Training and development needs of the line team. Paid holidays Subsidised canteen which sells hot food daily. Onsite carpark Lockers provided for daily use. Overtime available Own transport would be preferable for this position due to start/finish times.
