We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team in Edinburgh. About Our client is an award-winning e-learning provider with offices in London,Edinburgh and Paisley. Their self-built SaaS (software-as-a-service) platform allows their clients to deliver high-quality training content across their organisations, and the in-house editor allows their skilled team of designers to create effective and engaging training material. Their clients range from small local businesses to multi-national corporations, and the systems adapt and scale to meet their varying needs. They work closely with clients and are continually enhancing their platform with innovative and useful new features. Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced systems administrator/DevOps engineer to join this Edinburgh-based development team . Job We’re looking for an expert sysadmin to help manage and improve a cloud-based infrastructure, ideally with development experience so they can also assist the development team. You’ll need to have strong problem-solving skills with experience and understanding of highly available, scalable systems, as well as a solid understanding of web security. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner and enjoy keeping abreast of the latest technologies and best practices. This is a full-time, permanent role is based in Edinburgh , but there is an option for flexi-time and/or remote working at times, for the right person. Salary is highly dependent on experience. Ideally, you’ll have experience with all or most of their technology stack: Docker Kubernetes Helm AWS (Amazon Web Services) GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Postgres Python/Django Web (JS/CSS/HTML) Key responsibilities Cloud infrastructure (orchestration, maintenance, configuration, monitoring) Designing and maintaining scalable & highly-available architectures Dealing with debug/diagnose issues Database administration (ad-hoc reports, data imports) Disaster recovery planning and implementation Implement policies to maintain ISO 27001 accreditation This is an exciting opportunity to join a fun, modern and successful company.
