Senior Management Consultant - London

We are currently looking for a senior management consultant to join our Business Transformation team with a focus on financial institutions.
In this role you will work with our clients to advise on the buying and selling of assets in the infrastructure sector.

As part of the due diligence process, you will lead the identification of technical risks associated with the design, construction and condition of road pavements and structures as well as providing specific expertise on the development of road lifecycles and operational plans.

You will liaise with other technical resources inside and outside of Arcadis to deliver technical due diligence and advice to clients and work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams applying engineering management solutions and principles to assess the integrity of the overall design, operation and maintenance of ongoing road projects.

Key Accountabilities:

In this role you will carry out a range of technical and project management functions to include:

• In relation to the assets which are being developed, sold or acquired by clients:
o Undertake review of road asset management systems and practices
o Undertake review of handback requirements for project finance road projects
o Undertake assessment of lifecycle costs
o Undertake review and analysis of operational H&S policy and procedures and performance
o Propose mitigations and solutions to special events arising during operations of road project
o Undertake benchmarking where necessary
o Undertake review of road maintenance surveys (strategies, operational guidelines, work programmes)
o Review and opine on the principal inspection (PI) and general inspection reports (GI)
o Undertake commercial assessment of technical risks
o Undertake review of design and technical specification prepared by third parties
o Undertake review and analysis of operation & maintenance requirements and ongoing compliance on operational projects
• Provide specialised technical input to due diligence and advisory reports related to design, operation, management and lifecycle of road assets
• Undertake a leading assurance role to quality-assure project outputs (e.g. reports, specifications, etc.) to ensure that they meet or exceed client expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and that they comply with national standards and codes of practice
• Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile
• Maintain records of Continuing Professional Development and are able to make these available for audit by their professional institution

You will also have a number of the following:

• first-hand experience in the field of road construction and operations, preferably within PPP/PFI context in the UK or abroad
• in-depth understanding or road operations, maintenance and lifecycle strategies, able to evaluate effectiveness or such strategies and identify areas of risk and potential for improvement.
• ability to communicate well with others at all levels. Effective use of English orally and in writing is essential.
• experienced in leading, and working with, people from varied discipline, backgrounds and cultures
• effective project management, client relationship management and commercial skills
• ability to use a sound evidence-based approach to problem solving and be able to contribute to continuous improvement
• experience in the introduction and implementation of Road Asset Management Systems and the preparation of Strategic and Annual Business Plans for road improvements, periodic maintenance, routine maintenance and road safety Relevant experience in road management and operations sector especially with regard to the Performance Based Maintenance contracts
• knowledge of the development of project finance initiatives in the Transportation Sector would be advantageous
