Main Purpose of the Job:

Arcadis is seeking to strengthen their Airport Master Planning, Transactions and Business Planning service line with the appointment of a capacity planner to work as part of the Aviation Business Consultancy (ABC) Team in London. You will work with leading aviation clients and on international projects completing both desk and client-based assignments, with opportunities to travel internationally.

The types of projects will vary and could include supporting Airport Masterplan development, airfield, terminal and landside simulations, supporting the development of business cases for the redevelopment of an airport or supporting an investor in their goal to acquire or sell a stake in an airport concession.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

We need an energetic, ambitious and articulate Senior Consultant/Consultant who can analyse data, produce insights and recommendations and communicate these clearly to the team and the client. Aspects of the role include:

• Data manipulation and analysis and producing insights and recommendations.
• Set out data requirements and methodology for capacity and simulation studies.
• Development of assumptions for inclusion within capacity and simulation models.
• Developing presentation material and participating in presentations and workshops.
• Delivering projects including technical reports within the allocated timeframe.
• Support senior members of the team to develop bid submissions.
• Act as a resource supporting Senior Members of the ABC Team and interfacing with clients.
• Undertake research to ensure our approaches are using the latest best practice and tools.

It is anticipated that you already have a few years’ experience in undertaking the above.

Role Requirements (Skills & Behaviours)


• Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Data modelling experience.
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivator and able to take the initiative for discrete tasks when supporting a more senior member of the team.
• Ability to work under pressure and produce quality outputs.
• Degree educated.
• Willingness to travel internationally.


• Aviation related experience.
• Some experience in simulation modelling tools for airports / transportation (e.g. CAST, Simmod, ArcPORT).
• Competent user of Microsoft Access and / or other modelling techniques.
• Knowledge of VBA for Excel.
• Postgraduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification.
