Do you have strong numeracy skills and experience of working in a busy office environment? Our client, a large financial services firm, is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their London office. You will assist in maintaining and reconciling a large number of bank accounts, whilst providing assistance with filing and all other Cashier functions.

You will:

* Allocate all Standing Orders and Direct Debits and import to the in-house accounts system

* Prepare all month intra-group transfers on a monthly basis

* Complete bank reconciliations for all bank accounts and suspense accounts held within Finance

* Prepare journals on a monthly basis to be input on to the in-house accounts system

* Provide assistance to the Cashier Manager during busy periods and be prepared to learn new tasks quickly

* Authorise the prepared banking on a daily basis to ensure correct allocation

* Prepare payment of all foreign invoices on a weekly basis

* Provide backup support to the Cashier section in busy periods and holiday cover

* Manage the Cashier section in Cashier Managers absence

* Provide support on an adhoc basis to LLP Admin team

Your skills and qualifications:

* You’ll have strong communication skills, particularly telephone manner as there will be communication with the wider business

* You will have a thorough competency with Excel for (significant) reporting requirements of role

* You will be able to work as part of a team and provide support in all areas where necessary, in a busy office environment

* You will be deadline driven through busy periods of the year such as month and year end

* You will have a strong academic record, educated to A level or equivalent

* You will demonstrate strong numeracy (Mathematics A Level/GCSE)

* You will have experience working in a busy office environment
