This is an apprentice role so full training and guidance will be provided.

Hours of Work: Mon – Fri, 09:00 - 17:30

Purpose of the role:

The role of Sales Support is a crucial function of the sales cycle. This key role provides fast and efficient administrative support to the sales division and works closely with non-sales departments, to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction. This includes, but not limited to, ensuring Sales have the correct literature, reports, forward phone calls and schedule appointments to name a few tasks.

You will predominately work alongside one of the regional sales team, however, you may be required as necessary to support the wider sales team as directed by the Head of Sales Support. This role, irrelevant of the geographical location of the team which you are supporting, will be based within our Manchester Head Office.

You will be a highly organised and efficient professional who can wear multiple hats throughout the workday while prioritising the most important tasks on his or her list.

Responsibilities:

Providing support to Sales Team, including but not limited to:

* Processing orders

* Diary management – arranging internal and external meetings where required

* Providing any necessary data and/or reports

* Requesting travel and accommodation as required

* Oversee and own the processing of all required deal registration and/or rebate claim requests

* Request and obtain supplier pricing as requested, including checking of the output for accuracy

* Perform data entry duties with regard to sales figures, metrics and other key data in a timely fashion including but not limited to:

* Preparation of costing record for proposals

* Preparation of customer quotations and proposals, ensuring they are grammatically correct and free from spelling and/or numerical errors

* Completing thorough and appropriate credit control checks on customers, as required

* Prepare, administer and coordinate customer and supplier quotations, proposals, bids, orders, contracts and specifications in a time and efficient manner

* Maintain an organised and accessible file system for all internal staff containing all information created and/or gather during an opportunity lifecycle

* Maintain in-house CRM/database systems

Essential Competencies:

* Proficient in MS Word – Formatting of documents, tracking of changes, layouts, inserting tables and general features

* Proficient in MS Excel – Updating and creation of formulated tables, pivot table experience would be good but not essential and general Excel features

* GCSEs in Maths and English – grade C or above (or equivalent)

Desirable:

* Experience of working with CRM Systems

* Clerical experience in a high-volume office

* Updating and creation of formulated tables, pivot table experience would be good but not essential
