Product Manager - Office 365 and Collaboration services


The Communications Business Unit owns and drives forward a range of voice and collaboration services. Within the BU the Product Management Team owns the creation and delivery of Claranet’s product roadmap, and the services that we put around products provided by our supplier partners. The team is responsible for creating and managing compelling products and services that create value for our customers and support Claranet’s overall strategic vision.

The Product Manager for Office 365 and Collaboration Services is responsible for the management of products and services within the Communications Business Unit’s Business Applications portfolio and is responsible for defining product requirements, managing relationships with our technology partners, coordinating internal and external teams and working with our Sales Specialists to grow our business.

This role requires a significant depth of technical and commercial knowledge of business applications and IT services to allow the successful candidate to contribute to the company’s already successful cloud communications strategy.


* Gather market requirements from customers and other key stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, analysts and external vendors

* Be a key stakeholder in technical & commercial assessment of solutions from suppliers and partners

* Own the Product and Customer Lifecycle for all existing business application services including Office 365, Hosted Microsoft Exchange, Identity management and Symantec.Cloud security services

* Manage and continually develop our practice of consultancy, managed and professional services around these technologies, built upon a core of bundled, easy to order options that operate alongside other Claranet services

* Own our Professional Service approach and help define the boundaries and scope of those engagements

* Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure quality and speed of product delivery

* a range of collateral, information and marketing material around our services including, service level agreements, service descriptions and portal user guides

* Work directly on customer bids, especially where newly introduced services or bespoke services are being offered

* Directly support knowledge building, process development and continual improvement within operational teams

* Work with suppliers and other Claranet teams to ensure Claranet benefit from their support on product development, training and marketing, and have the best commercial deals possible

* Work with marketing and external groups, such as PR companies and Vendor Marketing departments to build and articulate the proposition to market

* Manage end of life processes for legacy products (migrating customers to new solutions where possible)

* Represent Claranet at industry forums and events as a speaker and subject matter expert for press engagements

* Support sales teams in product readiness and strategic customer engagements

* Creation and delivery of product training to all business functions

* Own the creation & presentation of business cases to support investment decisions

* Keep up to date with the latest industry trends for cloud computing and any specifically important vertical markets as defined in the go to market plan

* Maintain a solid understanding of the technology used to deliver cloud hosting services, such as application licensing and security services and options



* Strong influencing and inter-personal communication skills

* Knowledge of building and articulating collaboration/workplace services propositions

* Possess a strong knowledge of hosted applications and services particularly the Microsoft Office365, Symantec and similar suites. Knowledge of Microsoft CSP, SPLA and Symantec licensing programs

* Ability to work with and deliver business application products and services based on 3rd party technology

* Ability to work with professional service teams and consultants

* Can demonstrate an understanding of Cloud Business Applications market

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Detail orientated and with a systematic and organised approach

* Willingness to take lead and show initiative in problem solving and strategy decisions

* Ability to work in and coordinate complex cross functional teams

* Previous experience in IT professional services and Microsoft cloud services

* Project Management experience
