We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client, a global organisation.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for ensuring all services are delivered with due regard to cost implications, the achievement of revenue and the need to achieve sustainable levels of profitability within the M&I business.

Supporting the UK M&I Manager to ensure financial and business targets are met on an on-going basis, undertaking revenue earning work at the Nottingham branch when necessary to ensure department financial targets are met, and ensuring timely return of customers equipment in line with agreed turnaround times.

Key Accountabilities

* Maintain relations with clients to enhance trust, understanding and an awareness of local market trends/developments.

* Maintain UKAS accreditation to ensure continuation of M&I business.

* Work closely with the Branch Manager to ensure that new business is explored and appropriate growth opportunities maximised.

* Ensure effective two-way communication with team members to achieve appropriate levels of understanding of, and commitment to, appropriate business objectives.

* Liaise and work effectively with other branches to manage resources effectively, share best practice and ensure quality M&I services are delivered across the UK.

* Promote and develop a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of the inspection operation and adherence with company quality systems, following up audits and CAPRs/NCRs by completing actions on time and updating relevant procedures where appropriate and communicating any changes to the team.

* Develop and maintain a lean and accountable local team structure that encourages employees to take ownership of operational issues/opportunities at appropriate levels.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

* Experience in the service sector related to the calibration industry.

* Experience of directly communicating with clients and successfully resolving client’s issues/complaints.

* Previous experience of operating in a co-ordination or supervisory role within a successful team.

* In-depth technical knowledge of M&I activities within the calibration industry, with specific reference to instrumentation.

* HND/HNC electrical qualifications

* Understanding and knowledge of H&S procedures such as risk assessments, chemical handling and confined space entry, etc.

* HNC in Process Control / Instrumentation or equivalent.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

* GCSE Maths & English (grades A to C) or equivalent.

Desirable

* Experience of working within budgetary guidelines and ensuring effective cost control mechanisms appropriate to the needs of the business.

* Experience as Instrument Technician.

* Able to identify and capitalise on business development/efficiency opportunities to ensure sustainable revenues at acceptable margins and a basic understanding of P&L accounting.

* Knowledge of IT systems, particularly MS Office applications and OTIS.

* An understanding of ISO 9000 quality systems and procedures.

* An understanding of ISO 17025 quality systems and procedures.

* Higher education qualifications or a degree in a science or engineering discipline - i.e. BSc.

* Relevant management qualification/training e.g. ILM, NEBBS
