Our client is a fast moving, diverse and high-profile Transport Infrastructure operator who are also market leaders in their sector, now looking to grow their technical team with specific expertise.

In particular, our client is looking to recruit an IT Operations Controller.

Role:

Based in the Operations Centre, the IT Operations Controller will be the management bridge between the Operations and IT. The IT Operations Controller operates 24/7 and 365 days per year. The successful candidates will be expected to participate in a shift pattern.
The successful candidates will be fully flexible and ideally, have experience of working in a large outsource service environment. The applicant will be highly motivated in managing the delivery of services, solutions, and operations and be able to manage and resolve problems quickly, efficiently and resourcefully.

Responsibilities:

* Responsibility for declaring Major Incidents and providing the main interface to manage stakeholders and suppliers in the restoration of service asap.

* Ability to own and run IT Major Incident and Crisis Management communications.

* Facilitates the planning of all out of hours Change activity, ensuring effective communication, scheduling, and monitoring of Change.

* Providing formal sign off for changes at the implementation stage.

* Prior to start of day, ensures that all Business-Critical services are available and performing, through effective alignment with the Monitoring Centre (IMOC), Operations and key suppliers.

* Maintain effective relationships with suppliers/ partners to organise the efficient supply of services within agreed contractual terms.

* Production of Major Incident Reports.

Experience:

* Experience of managing Major Incidents

* Good technical knowledge of IT infrastructure – network, server, storage

* Strong customer communication skills and the ability to interact well with internal/external stakeholders.

* Able to lead teams and drive activities within tight timeframes

* Good team working capability

* Working under pressure and to tight timescales

* Managing of Major Incidents, providing leadership to resolution and clear communications throughout is beneficial.
