Youth Support Worker – Lewisham

* Based in Lambeth
* Full-time
* Daily pay £70 - £80 depending on experience

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker to work in a SEND School setting based in Lambeth. The school is seeking a Youth Support Worker that has experience in coaching or mentoring. The ideal candidate must feel comfortable dealing with a range of Special Needs such as Autism, PMLD, SLD, Complex needs and challenging behaviour from children to young adults and be able to show a calm approach to individuals with additional needs. Experience of working with children or adults in an education setting isn't essential, but a willingness to learn new coaching skills to improve behaviour is critical.

Job Responsibilities

* Supporting secondary pupils at GCSE level
* Ability to engage and support pupils
* The supervising and mentoring behaviour of pupils
* Comfortable working with a range of SEND, supporting Autism, PMLD, Complex needs and Challenging behaviour

Job Requirements

* Experience of supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour
• Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
• Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
• Available 5-days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
