Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join their finance team on a permanent full-time basis.
It would be beneficial if the successful candidate possessed a valid DBS, however please note that should this not be the case, the organisation will pay for this, therefore a candidate with a criminal conviction of any kind should disclose this immediately.
The ideal candidate will have experience in all the key accounting disciplines (Nominal Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Payroll) is essential

Experience in all the key accounting disciplines (Nominal Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Payroll) is essential
Proficiency in using Excel is essential
Precision and confidence in dealing with figures; a minimum A.A.T. Level 3 or equivalent qualification is essential
The highest standard of integrity, trustworthiness and confidentiality is essential.
Ability to work in a team within a busy office environment, displaying strong customer care skills.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to differing topics as and when required
Experience of using Payroll software would be an advantage although training will be provided

Main Tasks:

Maintenance of Sales Ledger, including raising invoices and credit control.
Maintenance of Purchase Ledger, including responsibility for the timely payment of suppliers
Reconciliation of daily and vending machine takings
Preparation of bank reconciliations
Processing of membership direct debits, including notifications to members
Preparation of VAT returns
Management and reconciliation of cash, including petty cash
Company payroll processing
Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual accounts and budgets
Control of the administration of insurance claims
Provide accounting support for the purchase ledger, fees ledger and payroll
Any other tasks and ad hoc projects as required

Hours of work are Monday-Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm

Annual Salary – £22,000 – £24,000 (pending on experience.)
