PK Education are honoured to be working with a specialist SEMH School in Sunderland.

We are looking for outstanding Teaching Assistants with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage & inspire young people who demonstrate challenging behaviour.

You will work with young people aged 5-16 who are at different stages of their journey in education. You will help students on a 1:1 basis or as part of a small group. Courses at the school include Construction, Modern Woodland Apprentice (NCFE) and agriculture. Experience in any of these areas is advantageous but not essential.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- experience of helping young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
- be an effective communicator
- be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of individuals within the group
- have a thorough understanding of differentiation within the classroom
- be able to provide a calm and positive presence

You will have extensive experience working with learners with extreme behavioural difficulties.

This inspirational school is registered for Key Stage 1-5 for pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

All pupils receive individualised programmes which support their transition into the school environment.

The primary activity of the school is the provision of specialist education services to young people with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)
