Maintenance Engineer

Full Time, Permanent days

37.5 hrs per week

£35,000 - £45,000

Our global healthcare manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join them on a full time permanent basis at their site in Ely.

The Maintenance Engineer is required to provide Multi-skilled – Mechanical and Electrical support to all areas of manufacturing and their processes.

The successful candidate will be working in a controlled clean manufacturing environment whilst adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. They will be responsible for scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs of equipment, the procurement of components and operational processes used directly and indirectly for product realisation. There is also potential for involvement in installation and validation. Observing all HSE and company health and safety policies and working practices

The client is about to move facilities so there will be involvement in this and also the potential for on going facilities management.


* Providing support to achieve production output standards

* Maintain production machinery

* Plan and execute preventative maintenance programs

* Ensure sufficient machine spare parts are in stock

* Advise on technical issues

* Support Continuous Improvement activities

* Monitor machine performance

* Respond quickly to machine breakdowns.

* Assist with Installation, Validation and Facilities Management activities

The successful candidate will be an accomplished Electromechanical Maintenance engineer with an HNC or higher in either Electrical/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, at least 5 years of practical and relevant experience and a background in relevant manufacturing industry; Medical Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Chemicals / COMAH, Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical and Food would be beneficial.

Adept at both mechanical and electrical fault finding, preferably with 17th Edition. They will have experience in PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They will be organised and self-motivated with a safety awareness of electrical, compressed air and pressurised systems. Ensuring safe systems of works are created, trained and implemented with new processes and equipment. Experience working with high speed automated equipment, robotics, vision systems, sensors and actuators would be advantageous.

The client is paying a very generous annual salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience. The position also comes with additional benefits including; pension, death in service, health care etc.
