Demand Forecaster - FMCG

Salary: From £27,000 - £35,000 p.a. + Pension

Hours: Monday – Friday – 8.00am – 5.00pm

A leading global FMCG client are looking to recruit for a Demand Forecaster to work alongside and support the Supply Chain team. You will be responsible for forecasting as accurately as possible on a daily, weekly and rolling medium-term basis.

The Role:

To forecast as accurately as possible customer by demand by SKU and depot on a daily, weekly and rolling medium-term basis. Primary objective is to achieve required service levels, maximise sales opportunities and enable planning, operations and procurement departments to maximise yield, labour efficiency and margin.


* Working closely with commercial departments to develop and manage accurate forecasts.
* Driving continuous improvement in forecasting metrics, specifically forecast accuracy and forecast bias.
* Analyse customer demands and provide timely feedback to operations including daily review of orders versus forecast to ensure service level and waste are optimised.
* Collate intelligence to be able to provide order requirements based on sales, market trends, and commercial and insight data.
* Understand demand forecast drivers by customer and product.
* Provide input and backup to the Supply Planning team in understanding forecast for existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
* Ensuring stock levels are maintained in accordance with customer order requirements.
* Continually review and develop the forecasting process to ensure the system develops in line with the companies needs and follows best practice.

Key Requirements:

* The successful candidate for the Demand Forecaster position will possess the following experience:
* Experienced in demand forecasting / supply chain – Essential
* Proven experience working within an FMCG environment – Essential
* Fully conversant with MS packages (Excel, word) – Essential
* Strong Analytical and numerical skills – Essential
