This blue-chip financial services agency is expanding due to steady growth projected to continue. As a result, they are looking for a like-minded procurement professional to join their Procurement function in a greenfield environment. My client is looking for a category manager to take ownership of the corporate services category - using their own procurement vision to develop and implement sourcing strategy in line with best procurement practice. They will be expected to build on and influence existing supplier relationships - evaluating the effectiveness, quality and delivery of these. This may mean re-negotiating contracts or sourcing new suppliers producing strong KPI's. The role will include:

  • Managing a spend of c. £25 million
  • Develop strategy and annual implementation plans to manage spend across Audit, Tax, Banking, Insurance, Merger & Acquisition, Accounting Services, Finance Consulting and Business Process Outsourcing (non-IT)
  • Autonomous ownership of your category spends, leading major negotiations with niche and major vendors to achieve cost savings as well as wider commercial benefits
  • Liaising with stakeholders to influence and promote the Procurement function and make purchases in line with the company's business goals

Key Skills:

  • Have strong procurement / purchasing experience across professional services - preferably corporate or financial services
  • Display a track record of rapid development within procurement, and a track record of savings and achievements on multiple key projects
  • Strong experience in the cradle-to-grave procurement process, including RFQ, RFP, Contract Drafting, Negotiation and Stakeholder Management phases
  • Works well in a team and autonomously - able to thrive within a fast-paced and challenging work environment
  • MCIPS/Degree
