We are looking to hire an AWS superstar and talented DevOps professional to join our fast-growing team.
 

As a SaaS business our reputation is built on our Clients have access to stable and accessible platform, this role is key to us to delivering that vision. You will be working closely with our product development teams to facilitate their requirements primarily within AWS. You will be designing, building, testing and implementing systems to enable our developers to deliver high quality code quickly and securely.

As a DevOps engineer you will be responsible for delivering the most efficient, secure and high-performance solution that enables the business to deliver even more features and enhancements to our products. The role involves supporting multiple development teams in several locations as well as some general support to the business overall.

Candidates should come from a DevOps / Operations background with proven in-depth experience of AWS and Linux. Experience in working closely with Agile development teams is essential. One of the most important attributes is a ‘can do’ attitude and a real enthusiasm for using the right technology to meet the business needs.

The DevOps Engineer role will include the following responsibilities:

+ Delivering AWS infrastructure and systems as required by the development team
+ Ensuring the complete security of the AWS infrastructure
+ Ensuring costs are controlled and kept within the limits specified by the business
+ Developing and operating suitable monitoring systems for the AWS environment
+ Developing maintenance procedures to ensure that the AWS environment is upgraded correctly
+ Supporting the production environment both during office hours and out of hours as required by the business on a rota basis

The ideal DevOps Engineer would have the following experience, skills and passion:

+ At least 3 years hands on experience building and managing AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Packer
+ Experience of designing, writing and building systems using Ansible
+ Deep knowledge and experience of AWS with a focus on security and cost reduction
+ Experience of developing Identity and Access lifecycle systems across AWS
+ Advanced knowledge and experience working with Linux as a systems administrator – preferably Ubuntu
+ Good understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 networking
+ Experience of working in an Agile environment engaging with and delivering for a fast-moving development team
+ 3+ years’ experience of scripting preferably in Python3
+ Ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and concise way that different levels of the business can understand
+ Experience with automated software testing tools 
+ Experience with automatic build pipelines
+ Experience of monitoring systems especially monitoring on AWS

In addition, the following skills would be highly desirable but not essential:

+ An interest in containers, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
+ Experience of Windows Server administration including Exchange
+ Knowledge of Git, Bitbucket or other source code version control systems
+ Good understanding of open source databases
+ Experience of working with change management processes and procedures
+ Experience of supporting users with Office 365
+ Experience of managing cloud-based services
