Account Director – Life Sciences Events Location: Maidenhead Salary: on application Ref 663 “I’m a great believer in luck. And the harder I work, the more I have of it!” Our client has an exciting new opportunity to join their thriving and growing Life Sciences Events Team as an Account Director, Life Sciences. This role can be based from any of their UK offices (Maidenhead, Derbyshire or South West London) or remotely. The role will be responsible for managing the global meeting operations and client relationships for an assigned client. Additionally, you will also be responsible for achieving both client and company goals related to global expansion, client retention, contractual obligations, profitability of operations, (in more than one country), quality of service delivery, preferred vendor maximization, technology implementation, meeting services and business development for assigned client. The Life Sciences team is quality, customer centred, process and business focused. With very demanding targets and objectives it is essential that all members of the team are dedicated, flexible, self-motivating, and dare to be different. Key Responsibilities of Account Director Global Account Management; Work with global customer(s) to develop business objectives of the meetings program. Develop a strategic business plan to achieve objectives globally. Focusing on both client and company program objectives. Track and report progress to goals. Ensure the customer’s goals will result in achieving both company and the clients’ financial, growth and service goals Responsible for communicating plans and key objectives to both client and company management in each the UK (i.e. operations, finance, sales and any other relevant department) Develop global contacts at all levels. Interfaces with key client contacts globally to build multi-level relationships within the company. Keeps client(s) informed of business trends and industry updates Monitor client satisfaction survey results and recommends improvements or business changes based on results. Account Growth & Negotiations; Responsible for contract negotiation, management and understanding the terms of the contract(s) to ensure that contractual commitments are continually met, monitor results on a global basis Takes a consultative approach to positioning “value added” products and services, and expansion of business to achieve additional growth and revenues; negotiates the passing along of price increases for current services. Oversee negotiation of customer-specific Service Level Agreements (SLA); oversees Operations to achieve service levels; and reports progress to customer and management. Develop measurements for all contractual objectives for the client, (i.e. Global Scorecard, or SLA). Oversees / directs client expansions/implementations and ensures contractual agreements are implemented Your Profile: Strong experience of working with the Pharmaceutical Industry Proven Life Sciences Events experience from a sales/operations level Excellent Pharmaceutical Compliance knowledge Team management experience Strong interpersonal skills - team leader Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of ten (10) years industry experience Prior managerial experience of seven (7) years in account management role Prior budget and cost management experience Fluent in Business English Thorough knowledge of meeting operations, staffing and forecasting Thorough knowledge of meeting technology Experience in implementing and managing large, global accounts Ability to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basis Attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office Ideal but not essential Bachelor’s degree preferred Knowledge and experience of using CVENT What we offer you: This is a terrific opportunity within an international working environment.
