Head of Finance
Head of Finance: An experienced Head of Finance (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or part qualified) with a robust understanding of financial and activity information systems is required to manage the finance function for an established Healthcare Group. Reporting to the Partners, the Head of Finance will join a leading provider of psychiatric rehabilitation and treatment, elderly nursing care, dementia care and community-based, step down residential care. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the Group's finance function, its management, support, year end reporting and effective control of both accounts receivable and accounts payable; whilst supporting the senior management team and other members of staff as required. As the Head of Finance will need to develop key relationships with a number of stakeholders, including the Finance Director, Partners, External Accountants and Registered Managers, the ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the healthcare industry in a senior Finance role. However, applications from candidates with knowledge of other industry sectors such as Hospitality and Education are also welcome. An understanding of both Sage 50 and cloud-based accountancy software packages would be also be beneficial. *Maintain the accounting records, present management accounts, budgets, forecasts, keep an accurate cash-flow to cover the next 12 months *Manage and maintain financial records on Sage Accounts *Ensure the posting of purchase invoices is carried out by the company bookkeeper *Check accuracy of the accounting treatment, maintain records of accruals and prepayments *Produce sales invoices on Sage Accounts, upload invoices on the Tradeshift e-invoice management software for NHS funded patients *Maintain effective debtors control management, respond to queries from private clients, NHS organisations and local authorities *Create new customer accounts on Sage, set up standing order mandates form for new privately funded patients *Oversee the payroll function and management of the employee's Pension contributions *Assist the external Accountant in the production of monthly management accounts, provide commentary reports to explain variances from the management accounts *Develop Trend analysis to support spotting errors / inconsistencies *Provide information to the external accountant for statutory accounts purposes, ensure that balance sheet accounts are reconciled for year - end audit *Oversee management of patient's monies, ensure data is kept up to date on Sage accounts *Be the primary source of high quality financial information, expert advice and support for SMT and budget holders, so that they meet their key operational and strategic business objectives *Undertake complex financial assessments to assess the financial viability of proposed service developments, contribute to the development of business cases for business opportunities or bids for funding or contracts from government and other external bodies Skills & Experience: *Qualified Accountant, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA or part qualified *A robust understanding of financial and activity information systems with the ability to extract, interpret and present relevant financial information for different users *Advanced user in Sage software system or equivalent *Experience in financial and management accounting *Working knowledge of the Mitrefinch TMS system or equivalent (desirable) *Experience of Tradeshift e-invoice management system of equivalent (desirable) *Health Sector experience or comparable sector (desirable) *Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel user *Ability to lead a team This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable Head of Finance to join a leading healthcare organisation to lead the finance operation.
