Job Purpose Working within our Group IT department, you will work as part of a team of engineers to diagnose complex infrastructure issues across the group estate. The Job Role The senior engineer position requires a superior level of expertise on core infrastructure technologies and you will also need good problem-solving skills to aid you in diagnosing complex infrastructure issues. Experience of architecting and operating infrastructure solutions to deliver enterprise class SLAs. You will be required to travel to other sites within the Westcoast group on occasion. Additionally, there will be an expectation to work out of hours where necessary. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain: HPE server estate including hyper-converged Multi-vendor hypervisor platform Multi-vendor network (HP/Aruba & Cisco) F5 Big-IP Load balancers Deliver highly available services across multiple geographic locations Work within predefined governance guidelines (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials plus, ETC) Architect and deliver new platforms based on PMO requirements Work with in house Service Desk and 3rd party suppliers to resolve escalated support incidents Key Skills Expert experience of the following technologies and principals Microsoft software and services, including: Windows Server (MCSA / MCSE an advantage) Hyper-V (optional) System Centre (SCCM & SCVMM) Remote Desktop Services / VDI Office365 Advanced PowerShell scripting VMWare technologies Datacentre design, high availability & Business continuity HPE Servers / blades Infrastructure security / threat protection IP networking / Load balancing Mitel IP telephony ITIL Foundation or above, or experience working in an ITIL environment Must be able to achieve SC level clearance Logic based thought process Excellent aptitude for organisation and an understanding of project work Possess the judgement to plan and accomplish goals independently Good verbal and written communication skills Experienced in producing infrastructure documentation What we offer Full training and on-going Learning and Development support, with excellent career progression Learning and Development opportunities with funded NVQ/work based studies/professional qualifications Employee referral bonus Auto enrolment pension Perkbox – instant access to a wide range of high street, leisure and utility discounts and perks Staff purchases – discounted IT, electronics, mobiles and accessories Mobile contracts Eye care scheme Cycle to work scheme If you are interested in this position, please send your CV with a cover letter stating your salary requirements to recruitment@westcoast.co.uk NO AGENCIES PLEASE
