Apprentice Commis Chef
This position offers an applicant the opportunity to hone your skills in a well-respected local pub. the owners have years of experience in multiple aspects of the hospitality industry and are able to mentor to a high standard.
You will be learning to prepare the full range of our menu supported and trained by our existing kitchen team and developing your skills by attending college one day a week.
We prepare our menus from scratch and you will learn how to prepare fish, meat and poultry, vegetables, soups and sweets.
You will lean how the menus are developed, priced and procured.
You will take on the basic prep for each session with the owners which is commenced about an hour before service starts. You will learn to ensure products for the next shift are taken from storage and made available.

- A desire to succeed in the industry is a good solid base upon which to build
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths are a benefit

An Apprentice Chef could easily become 2nd or head chef in time
Things to consider
Our pub is in Pevensey Village. Transport is easy via bus, train or personal transport from the surrounding areas of Eastbourne and district.
Practical experience, in our minds, teaches and moulds an individual much quicker than the academic routes. We value dedication and desire to succeed. Such traits will take you further.
