*The purpose of the Planning, Monitoring and Control (PM&C) Professional is to set up, operate and assure the processes directly associated with the 7 core competencies of PM&C:
oEstimating
oWork content and scope
oTime scheduling and phasing
oBudgeting and Cost Management
oEarned Value Management
oManagerial Analysis
oChange Management
*The PM&C Professional may also set up, operate and assure aspects of Project Management Integration such as Risk & Opportunity Management
*The role will alsoprovide direct support to Portfolio, Programme and Project Managers, and Service Delivery Managers, as required within the framework of the local Programme Management Office

3. Common Role Accountabilities
The responsibilities and accountabilities that are common to all grades of work associated with this role are:
*Contribute to a culture of delivery excellence across the delivery community
*Act as a source of best practice guidance on project management processes relating to project set up, overall and specific control during execution and close down activities
*Undertake the common administrative and management support activities for projects, programmes and portfolios
*Produce management information, including scenario modelling, in direct support of analysis of a project, programme or portfolio's health
*Support delivery governance and reporting requirements

4. Specific Accountabilities

Senior PM&C Professional

A Senior PM&C Professional is expected to have a clear understanding of the project management lifecycle and associated support activities and have experience and expertise in the application of these activities across portfolios, programmes and projects. In addition they will have a level of specialist knowledge in one or more areas of PM&C practice and be expected to adapt and apply these practices in different circumstances. This specialist knowledge may be used to directly support one or more projects or a long term basis, or may include direct support to a Bid Team

An individual in a Senior role may act as a PMO team co-ordinator and may be involved in managing the delivery and performance of other PM&C Professionals.

*PMO duties & responsibilities
oComprehensive support to portfolios, programmes and projects as set by local PMO conditions
oFacilitation of monthly governance processes
oComplete project set up and close down tasks
oManagement of monthly portfolios, programmes and projects finance activities
oProduction and analysis of portfolios, programmes and projects MI
oAssurance across all competencies in which he/she is Proficient
oProvide training and guidance to relevant members of the delivery community
