AWS Tooling Engineer

Location: Blackpool

Initial Duration: 3 Months

IR35: Out of Scope

Rate: Up to £585 per day

Clearance: BPSS

The Tooling Engineer is responsible for the end to end development and deployment of Tooling Environments to support the programme requirements.

They will manage the technical development and work with (share expertise) the design team,to develop, build and test secure technology platform solutions for future use They will provide Tooling services to support a range of stakeholders and provide required support and assistance They will make use of their considerable technical knowledge and experience to determine appropriate methodology and use of cloud based technologies, deploying innovative agile techniques to reduce the overall project technical risk and deliver to within cost, time, scope and quality.

The successful Tooling Engineer will:

  • Be Extremely hands-on, highly technical with strong experience in tooling engineering to pro-actively deliver against tooling requirements
  • Be certified - to Professional level desired
  • In conjunction with the Tooling Architect assist with the design of tooling and produce a coherent set of high level and low requirements for the VME-R environments
  • Practical experience with Tooling technologies (Gitlab, Artifactory, Puppet, Ansible, Nexus, AWS Code Commit and related AWS Technologies)
  • Advise/Produce an Automation and Orchestration strategy
  • Be fluent with automated work flows (YAML, XML, Shell, Bash, Linux, Ruby, Git, Snow

Essential Skills:

A deep expertise in:

  • Automation methodologies and scripting
  • Strive to review and improve services as the tooling platform evolves
  • Delivering technical solutions and working within hybrid-cloud enterprise level configurations
  • Tooling Engineer who can build and deliver CI/CD pipeline
  • AWS, AWS DevOps - all current dev ops toolsets, Linux/RedHat, Windows, Oracle, Cloud Computing in the Public Sector, Automated tooling and approaches, SQL Server
