Public Services Teacher
The Activate Learning group is comprised of secondary, further and higher education, apprenticeship and workforce training, consultancy, international, commercial business and social enterprise. These learning organisations are united by a common purpose: to transform lives through learning.
The Services to the Public faculty, covers Health and Social Care, Early Years and Public services provision across all Activate Learning campuses. Teaching staff are responsible for the teaching, learning and assessment of their specialist programmes, which may vary across different programme levels, depending on the needs of the learners and the faculty. The faculty has developed effective, supportive subject specialist communities, which ensure continuity of delivery, standardisation of practice and sharing of resources.
The faculty prides itself on the close relationships developed with a wide range of different employers. Employers are instrumental in supporting the delivery of curriculums through project based learning, ensuring that delivery and course content meet the needs of local industry. All learners undertake extensive work experience placements and employers are encouraged to work with teaching staff to develop relevant and innovative learning environments.
Teaching within the Services to the Public faculty, develops not only personal teaching skills, but also ensures the continued development staff employability skills, vital in ensuring that learners can relate their studies to real life working environments. Therefore, staff are expected to embrace new innovative teaching methods and challenge learners to explore opportunities beyond their expectations.
