Senior Windows Systems Engineer (3rd Line Infrastructure Support) Caerphilly Negotiable Salary The Senior Windows Systems Engineer Role Reporting to the 3rd Line Manager you’ll be part of a 3rd Line Support team, supporting the mission critical infrastructure of Ensono’s clients, delivering a responsive and exceptional support service you’ll resolve complex technical client incidents and problems escalated from internal departments. Using your proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills you will help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to optimise our clients’ infrastructure. The 3rd Line Support team brings together a diverse group of people to make a compelling team dynamic. Your day-to-day role will expose you to a diverse mix of client solutions and multiple vendor technologies including the very latest Cloud technologies. In addition to our online training portal - ‘Ensono University’, you’ll be supported by both internal and external training. Longer term objectives will concentrate on helping you develop the skills and experience necessary for you to progress on your chosen career path. Key Responsibilities • Providing support to client’s infrastructures and maintaining high availability through proactive measures • Resolving complex technical incidents/problems escalated by other internal departments within the call management system • Administration and troubleshooting of issues. • Ensuring clients & partners are updated on the status of issues • Implement operational procedures, tools and best practice. • Achieve required levels of operational scalability & performance • Be an escalation point for client escalations • Aid in capacity management/reporting. • Participate in the execution of Disaster Recovery exercises and own specific server tasks • Possess a full understanding of server and network infrastructure • Supporting project deployment and project transition support for complex solutions • On call for Windows/Vmware/Storage infrastructure escalations • Responsible for Change review of managed services • Ensure all changes are documented through the change management process • Execute change management tasks in line with defined processes • Act as a Principal Support Analyst for 1 or more clients • Take a leading role in the analysis and resolution of problems as raised by the problem management function and by clients • Assist and mentor team members in the structured approach to troubleshooting problems • Act as a role model and mentor for fellow team members Requirements for the Senior Windows Systems Engineer Role • Excellent Microsoft server skills. • Coaching and mentoring skills. • Advanced problem-solving skills. • Experience from a Managed Services background. • Exceptional customer service. • Strong English communication skills.Strong understanding of Infrastructure technologies like Storage Area Networks, Open Systems and Firewalls. • Additional preferred knowledge: VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Server 2008/2012 Qualified (MCITP/MCSE), VMware ESX, VSphere, Exchange, Cisco experience, SAN/NAS, ITIL.
