As a support worker you will play a huge and rewarding role in supporting individuals with a learning disability to live their lives as independently as possible. This is a hands-on role, where no 2 days are the same, whether taking clients shopping, going for a walk in the village, or having a movie or crafts afternoon. Some of our service users have Nursing needs so we are looking for people who are compassionate, respectful, courteous and have excellent communication skills. You will need to share our values of providing excellent standards of person-centred care and support. Ideally you will hold an NVQ2 or 3 or Diploma in Health & Social care. If you do not have a formal qualification but do have previous ‘hands on’ experience including personal care within a previous caring role, we will be prepared to support you to develop your career. Alternatively, if you would like to move into a career in care, we will consider you if you have no experience as full training and support can be given. What hours will I be working?
