Site Engineer - Electrical Bias
An award-winning meat producer and supplier with factories in Ireland, UK and Europe has an exciting opportunity for a Site Engineer to join the team in Tunbridge Wells. As their Site Engineer, you will possess a strong technical knowledge and be seen as the shift expert in at least one area of the factory or type of machinery. You will also be required to plan and carry out all planned preventative maintenance so as to ensure that all plant and equipment is in good working order and all customer orders are met. About the Site Engineer role: Attending plant to repair breakdowns and returning the plant to production as quickly as possible Carrying out PPM (planned preventative maintenance), recording findings and actively driving CI for the machinery and process Monitoring and controlling machinery/equipment performance to Site standards in order to support operational needs and ensure that Production targets and Standards are met Recording all spares removed from stores and requesting any non-stock spares for purchase Taking responsibility for Health and Safety of yourself and others, and working within the company's health and safety, food hygiene and engineering policies Assisting the Engineering team with any required maintenance on-site services, building fabrication Working Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off (12 hour shifts) About you: Background involving maintenance of a busy production line, with an electrical machinery bias, however may include mechanical machinery Apprentice trained or NVQ 3, ONC, HNC or HND in preferably Electrical Engineering or equivalent, along with experience in a similar role is required IoSH experience preferable LEAN Theory - 5S, SMED, MTBT, MTBF preferable Competent at fault finding techniques and have knowledge of refrigeration and steam generation equipment Courage to challenge and effective communicator Ideally suited to a fast-paced environment with good multi-tasking skills Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills They want the best people to work for them and they know that a supportive and friendly working environment plays a key role in attracting and retaining employees.
