Day Service Facilitator
We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilitator to join our Day Centre in Hove, Deer Lodge is a community based, learning disability development centre in Hove which supports: Adults aged 18 and over Profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) Complex health needs As this is a Day Centre, the position is largely 9-5, Monday to Friday, but there are occasions when you may be asked to provide support outside these hours. Main responsibilities The people we support are at the heart of everything we do - they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and choice. Our main priority, therefore, is to find facilitators with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own. Could this be you? Your duties will be varied and no two days will be the same. You'll be supporting the personalised development of each day service attendee, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs, respecting the dignity and individuality of each individual and providing the attendees with choice where appropriate. You'll also facilitate daytime activity session groups, lead outreach training within residential homes and supported living environments and support access to community activities A full job description is available on request. Ideal candidate At CMG, we believe that a successful facilitator doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their dreams. Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must. This day centre has a hydrotherapy pool, so if you can swim that would be very useful. Some experience as either a learning support or teaching assistant, or in special needs would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career.
