Our client, one of the largest Veterinary Practice Groups in the country, operating some 250 surgeries and 6 diagnostic laboratories nationwide, is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join the development team. Reporting into the E-commerce Project Manager, this role is responsible for driving both front-end and back-end development across: Multiple highly-customised websites based on the leading Magento 2 E-commerce platform, integrating multiple external systems including ERP, Warehouse Management system. Content Management system (currently Wordpress) that drives hundreds of websites for individual veterinary practices as well as several corporate websites of the Group. Providing technical support for Marketing and Operations teams across the whole business. Candidates must have the following qualifications, IT skills, experience and personal attributes to be considered for this role: Considerable (five years plus) experience in Object-oriented PHP web development. Experience of at least two years as a Magento back-end developer. Experienced with application frameworks such as Zend, Symphony, Laravel. Strong experience with MVC and other best practices in programming design patterns. Strong experience with MySQL, database design and performance optimization. Experience working in version control environment: Git / SVN / Subversion. Good experience with Javascript (jQuery and AngularJS in particular). Strong experience with various systems API integrations. Working experience with HTTP and managing Apache / Ngnix web servers. Good experience with Unix shell environment. Experience working in Test-driven design environment. Magento certification. Experience working on the client-side for retail E-commerce business. Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and work ethic Taking responsibility to deliver own commitments and commit extra effort where required Passionate about creative, usability and all things digital Great attention to detail, with an unfailing commitment to create high-quality and efficient code. Confident in own work and receptive to feedback. Organised yet flexible, and able to prioritise own workload to meet agreed deadlines.
