G&W UK/Europe Region offers a range of logistical solutions based around its three core service platforms of Rail, Road and Terminals. G&W is unique in the rail industry, owning or leasing more than 122 freight railroads organised in nine locally managed operating regions with 8,000 employees serving 3,000 customers. We have acquired over 100 railroads since 2000 including UK companies Freightliner and Pentalver. G&W are currently creating a new Shared Service Centre in Birmingham city centre and as a result are now recruiting for a significant number of Management Accountant positions.

Your new role 

Reporting into the Finance Operations Manager as part of this newly created team you will be responsible for production of the monthly management accounts, variance analysis and associated balance sheet reconciliations. You will be part of a large finance team and every member of the team will be responsible for driving process improvements, increasing efficiency and developing working relationships across the business. 

Experience required 

Our client is ideally seeking candidates with experience from a large and complex shared services environment (or similar), however, this is about securing the best people in the market and as long as you have excellent communication skills and a pro-active attitude with some management accounting experience it is worth applying.
