We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our engineering department onsite at Tate & Lyle Sugars in London.

We are Tate & Lyle Sugars part of the ASR Group, our companies have more than 150 years of experience taking sugar cane from the field to the table. Our expertise in every aspect of the cane sugar process is without equal. We are the largest vertically integrated cane sugar refiner in the world. Our nine refineries are found in five countries across the globe and collectively can produce more than six million tons of sugar. We also own and operate sugar mills in the United States, Mexico and Belize. This position is based in our head office in Covent Garden with occasion travel to our other sites in East London.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the companies control systems across our London sites.

Other duties include:

* Maintain and enhance control and instrumentation, hardware and software whilst ensuring refinery operations perform to the optimum level

* Communicate with all levels of refinery personnel to ensure understanding of changes to the control systems

* Provide specialist instrumentation knowledge to the refinery to the capital projects and assist with replacement of legacy systems when required

* Evaluate changes/upgrades to process control systems and make recommendations for continuous improvements

* Contribute to the definition of standards for the development and maintained of process control systems with the refinery

* Provide call out support in line with the company procedure

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCE

* Solid Project Management experience

* Excellent understanding of a range of process control tools and techniques, but specifically ORSI, Siemens, HP, Allen Bradley, Wonderware ArchestraA

* Good knowledge of sugar refining operations

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL

* Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word)

* Ability to anticipate problems before they occur to eliminate or mitigate issues
