This award-winning, family-owned, specialist engineering company are looking for an experienced 3D, 2D CAD designer with an engineering background for this permanent position. Working from a purpose-built open plan office with scenic views you would be responsible for engineering projects using an Autodesk Inventor suite to create project specific models and derived 2d production drawings. Within a small in-house technical design team that support existing and group-wide clients on projects in the UK and across Europe.

In this CAD Designer role, you would follow an engineering project by receiving the quote package then building the 3D model using Inventor. From this model, you would generate the annotated 2D drawings ready for manufacture. During this process, you would follow email discussions and liaise with all parties as required. Using your engineering / draughtsman experience, you would amend drawings as needed through the process ensuring they are up to date and to specification.

A passion for the role is essential as future training and qualifications up to HNC level are an option, alongside helping the company streamline and develop the in-house 3d mechanical solid modelling systems.

As the CAD Designer your duties would include:

Create, edit and update project assembly
Generate annotated 2D Production Drawings from the 3D assembly.
Ensure project package is maintained and contains all required documentation
Liaise with the customer, suppliers and colleagues throughout the project.

The Ideal CAD Designer would have:

Experience of using 3D software such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
Engineering knowledge from your previous experience or qualifications.
A keen interest in seeing a project through from inception to completion.
Team mentality and the ability to communicate positively.
A flexible attitude to help develop systems and procedures.

CAD Designer

In Return, you would receive a salary of between £24,000 and £28,000 dependant on your skills and experience, paid on a monthly basis. Your usual working week is Monday to Friday 8.30 till 5 with an hour for dinner. You have the option of finishing at 2pm every other Friday by doing 3 extra hours in the days leading up to it.
