HR Business Partner: A dynamic HR Business Partner (CIPD) with generalist HR experience is required to deliver a day to day full HR service for a leading railway engineering service provider. Reporting on a day to day basis to the Finance Director and guided professionally by the HR Director, the HR Business Partner will join an international organisation offering a comprehensive range of railway construction, infrastructure and service products. The company's portfolio ranges from track construction, track renewal, track maintenance and the rehabilitation of railway tunnels, to railway power supply and communication technology, through to consultancy, planning and design, and logistics services. The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR Generalist, CIPD qualified and have previous experience in rail or engineering. Responsibilities: *Deliver day to day HR service to the business and its Directors *Support the implementation of the operational elements of the HR strategy *Handle casework/employee relations: absence, disciplinary matters, grievances and sickness and advise managers accordingly *Handle TUPE process of any incoming/ outgoing contracts *Coach and support Managers on performance management and processes *Manage recruitment and retention: including talent and succession planning, taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns *Implementation and ongoing maintenance of on line / cloud-based HR system *Monthly reporting of key HR KPI's with recommendations *Consult with Managers providing guidance and recommendations on learning and development for Managers and their teams, including working with external suppliers of L&D *Oversee the company's apprentice scheme *Implement new HR policies, procedures and processes, ensuring legal compliance Skills & Experience: *A professional and commercial approach to HR, with the ability to deliver high employee satisfaction *Previous experience of working within a generalist HR function at the appropriate level *CIPD qualified with a good understanding of employment legislation *1-2 years previous experience in rail or engineering (preferable) *Excellent communication skills honed in business partnering / advisory roles *Experience of dealing with challenging individuals to achieve successful resolutions *Experience in handling TUPE transfers (in or out of the business) *Confident in advising managers on all aspects of people management and development *Strong written skills with proven ability to draft policies, procedures and reports *Delivery focused with the ability to prioritise and organise workload agreed within deadlines *Numerate and financially aware with the ability to produce reports and statistics as required *Open communication style, with ability to communicate at all levels in an organisation *Good personal presentation and high level of professionalism This is a fantastic opportunity for a positive-minded, commercially-focused HR Business Partner to join an established business and really make this role their own.
