The Assistant Finance Manager Role This role is an important part of the Cruise Finance team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the cruising function of the business. Reporting to the Head of Cruise Finance in the Saga Travel Finance Department, this role is suited to qualified finance professionals. You will provide financial and analytical support to the Cruise management team, ensure that systems and processes are continually reviewed and continually look to improve and optimise finance processes. This role requires significant liaison with senior business colleagues within Saga Cruises and as such, must demonstrate an ability to adopt a manner of conduct appropriate to the situation and audience. Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Manager - Understand the business strategy and sales positions, prepare accurate and timely revenue reporting and keeping the business informed of sales and MI reporting (including weekly cruise MI reports for the Group Exec) - Ensuring finance processes adopted by the team are robust, reliable and efficient - Takes responsibility for key work tasks, with the expectation from management - Expectation that answers and solutions will be delivered without significant involvement (but with reasonable support) from the appropriate manager - Work output expected to be of a high standard, rigorously checked, evidenced and reconciled appropriately. - Challenging business processes to exploit commercial opportunities - Assist the Head of Finance and support the cruise management team in delivering financial benefit annually - Responsible for the accuracy and financial reporting of passenger insurance for the travel division and to be the finance team subject matter expert - Be the subject matter expert for cruise for a number of relevant accounting standards including IFRS 15 accounting for revenue Experience and skills required of our Assistant Finance Manager - Recognised accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, or CIMA - Well developed communication and interpersonal skills - Able to quickly establish credibility, winning the respect and cooperation of colleagues at all levels, including Department Heads and Directors - Strong operational understanding of business - Strong accounting skills - Able to work as a team and capable of delivering objectives within high-profile projects - Strong proficiency in the use of Excel and saga systems Benefits of becoming our Assistant Finance Manager - 28 days holiday - Free private medical insurance after 1 years service - Pension - AXA Be Supported - Discounts on Saga holidays and insurance products - A range of reductions and offers from leading retailers, travel groups and entertainment companies If you would like to join the team as our Assistant Finance Manager, or find out more information, then please click ‘apply’ today – we’d love to hear from you!
