We are looking for a Head of Capability to work on a permanent basis in the Preston area. Salary is c£60,000 - 80,000 per annum. The Head of Capability has overall responsibility for developing and maintaining the organisation to meet the requirements of the clients business plan. This includes the management of operational delivery employees across the UK, as well as the buildings and facilities at these sites. The individual must ensure the company complies with all relevant legal and statutory requirements in so doing. Health and Safety Working closely with the Head of EHSSQ and local EHS capability: · Promoting a safe working environment for staff and visitors. · Discharging statutory duties. · Implementation of clientsHealth and Safety policy. · Supporting H&S initiatives. · Reporting and communicating H&S issues. · General employee physical and mental health and welfare. People Management · Line management and communication. · Ongoing assessment of resource levels within the company, including management of leave, absences and sickness. · Managing and supporting cross-site working. · Managing recruitment activities. · Management of apprentice and trainee programmes. · Managing performance (including OMR, appraisals, reward and recognition, salary reviews, training needs, coaching, mentoring, succession, disciplinary, and performance improvement). Business Planning Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team: · Contribute to the business plan and setting annual budgets. · Control of overhead spending, particularly Employee Utilisation, Malton Machine Shop Utilisation, Rig Hall Utilisation, Office Space Utilisation, and training (working with Training Manager). · Delegated authorities and approvals. · Planning to build the necessary operational structure and facilities to meet future requirements (working with Head of Delivery). · Structuring operations to align with company values. · Setting and publishing relevant key performance indicators. Supporting Bids and Tenders Working closely with the Head of Business Winning: · Review upcoming workload and resource requirements. · Allocating resource for the production of bids and tenders. · Support the review and acceptance of bids, tenders and contracts. · Conflict resolution and prioritisation. Profitable and Timely Delivery of Contracts Working closely with the Head of Delivery: · Review upcoming workload and resource requirements. · Provision and assignment of suitable resource to support contract delivery. · Conflict resolution and prioritisation. Facilities Management Working closely with the Head of EHSSQ: · Maintenance, modification and upkeep of buildings, spaces and equipment. · Management of general site security. · Management of local security arrangements pertaining to client standards for controlling sensitive information. Implementation of Company Policy, Processes and Procedures Working closely with the Head of EHSSQ: · Provision and assignment of suitable resource to generate / review company procedures and contribution to their continuous improvement. · Support the roll out and implementation of procedures at site level. Compliance Working closely with the Head of EHSSQ: · Ensuring compliance with relevant external standards and the clientsIntegrated Management System. · Support the management of Personnel Vetting requirements. Environment Working closely with the Head of EHSSQ: · Management of business environmental impact to ISO14001. General Management · Contribute to the Capability Leadership Team, building the management team capability and effectiveness. · Supporting company communication, announcements and information flow down. · Considerable experience in an operations or similar management role. · Experience in a project management, engineering and/or manufacturing environment. · Experience in a highly regulated industry and a good knowledge of quality management systems. · Excellent interpersonal, organisational, time management and decision making skills. · Graduate level of intellect, preferably with a higher degree in management discipline or a professional qualification.
