We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social worker who can demonstrate recent experience in fostering to join our Referrals Hub team in Bolton. The ideal candidate will share our ongoing commitment in providing excellence in the quality placements we provide for the children and young people in our care. Placement Social Workers support the Regional Director in providing an efficient, effective and good quality matching service to local authorities and ensure appropriate placements of young people with foster carers. You will be responsible for making suitable and safe placement matches, considering the needs of the looked after young person and all members of the fostering household. The Placements Social Worker will identify support services necessary for complex placements and build effective relationships with Foster Carers, the Referrals Hub, Supervising Social Workers and Local Authorities. You will also assist in the building of sustainable relationships with existing foster carers in order to better utilise informal networks in recruitment and retention. Who we are looking for You will need to be a qualified Social Worker and possess a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and their impact on fostering services. You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, have good IT skills and be flexible and able to travel throughout the area. Essential Criteria Qualified Social Worker (DipSW or CQSW or equivalent) Car driver and access to a vehicle Current registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory council (e.g HCPC) Recent experience in services for children Demonstrates a working knowledge of, and an understanding of relevant legislation and minimum standards relating to fostering Ability to use ICT effectively to fulfil job responsibilities We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all employees to share this commitment and undertake appropriate checks.
