Warehouse/Despatch Operative

An experienced Warehouse/Despatch Operative is required to work in this family run business based in Trafford Park. This is a full time permanent position.

About the Role:
Working as part of a team you will be responsible for general duties within the warehouse & despatch areas, loading/unloading vehicles, dealing with couriers, labelling, wrapping pallets ready for despatch, housekeeping & other warehouse duties.

You must have the ability to work under pressure during busy peak periods whilst still maintaining high standards, be able to work in an organised manner and have the ability to prioritise your workload.

You may also be required to work in the despatch office booking in deliveries with customers & carriers, negotiating carriage costs, ensuring all orders are booked in for delivery within the target timeframes. You will be required to do this during busier periods & also holiday/sickness cover.

The ideal candidate will have a Flexi/Bendi licence & have proven experience in similar warehouse roles.
ideally having a good level of numeracy and literacy & have knowledge of excel spreadsheets You must be motivated and have the ability to self-manage and demonstrate a flexible approach. This is a demanding role; full training will be given to the right candidate.

Main Duties:
- Loading/unloading courier vehicles
- To take delivery of goods delivered into WH, with the use of Forklifts
- Label and wrap deliveries.
- Label, stack, wrap pallet ready for courier collections
- General Housekeeping within area
- Ability to lift boxes of varying weights
- Replenishing warehouse stock
- Picking

Skills Required
- FLT licence with at least 2 years' experience
- A Flexi licence would be very advantageous
- Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
- Good knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Be highly accurate, numerate, well organised and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to work to a high standard.

Hours of work: 9.30 - 6pm Monday - Thursday (5.30pm Fridays)
