Would you like to be a part of our clients team to develop technical solutions for current and future train connection systems? Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen the Engineering team in their Gangway Engineering department in the UK. In this position your focus is to analyse and evaluate new opportunities to contribute to the development of their products. You will be placed in Swadlincote, Derbyshire and report to the Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities Create, draft, design and develop train connection products using customer specifications and recommendations. Conduct pre-studies and development projects Ensure that our products are compliant to international directives and standards as well as customer requirements and company policy Design and modify equipment for fabricating, assembling and installing components. Monitor technology development in the field through customer visits, exhibitions and technical literature Ensure appropriate reporting and documentation The successful candidate will have the following profile Education & Job experiences: A Bachelors or Masters Degree or equivalent qualification (HNC) in design / manufacturing / production / mechanical engineering. 2+ years of engineering experience Excellence in CAD, preferably Inventor and Vault. It?s a plus if you have a proven record in design of technical solutions. Personal skills: Strong technical and analytical skills. Team orientated with good interpersonal skills and cooperation with colleagues and other departments. Good communication skills with ability to transfer your knowledge in an instructive, easy-to-understand way. Self-motivated and result oriented Well organised, highly motivated for the job and with an open attitude. Fluent in spoken and written English.
