Packaging and Compliance Technician
N Brown is now recruiting for a Packaging and Compliance Technician to join its team. This role will offer the opportunity to work across all of our sites including Griffin House (Northern Quarter) and our Logistics sites in Shaw (Oldham) and Hadfield (Glossop). The Technician will work to be compliant, monitor and review all processes and procedures that involve the delivery/picking/packing/dispatching/refurb and the return of products to the customer. What you’ll be responsible for as a Packaging and Compliance Technician: Ensuring the durability of transit packaging and labelling to protect the product, and to ensure the most efficient, effective methods are optimised and managed in the correct way. Reviewing how all prime, refurbed and returned products are packaged and assessing the quality and identify opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements. Assessing and reviewing products that are packaged inside the shipping carton to identify if box fill can be increased by optimising the way that the internal items are packaged. Getting involved in relevant projects to assist in identifying & implementing cost and quality benefits to the department and wider business. Working closely with the warehouse team to challenge, manage and coordinate supplier non-compliance through FDR’s, unplanned refurb and any other data. Analysing the incorrect weights and dimensions, reporting and driving improvements to the accuracy of the data that has been input into the mainframe system to ensure products are despatched via the correct carriage stream. Keeping up to date with marketing trends and innovations in line with QA digital strategy as well as benchmarking against competitors. Keeping up to date with compliance laws for UK/EU/International and Partnerships. Specifying new or existing requirements, creating a detailed specification with clear recommendations on materials, components, finished products, packaging and labelling across quality, ethical, environmental and legal dimensions. What the Technician will need to succeed: Packaging design and construction knowledge. Good appreciation of Design innovation. IT skills – competent understanding of IT systems. ‘Can-Do’ approach and flexible to a changing environment. Excellent time management. The ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders. Knowledge of testing and standards and compliance and legislation for UK/EU and International. Great written and verbal communication skills.
