CLINICAL RESEARCH MIDWIFE BAND 6

The aim of the Fetal Medicine Unit is to provide patient focused high quality evidenced based care for women with complex pregnancies where a fetal abnormality has been diagnosed or suspected. The ability to improve the outcomes of some of the fetal anomalies has developed because of the advances of prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy. Fetal Medicine is the specialty that focuses on fetal outcomes for women and their families

The Fetal Medicine Team is currently looking for enthusiastic Research Midwives.
The individuals should have a specialist interest in contributing to Clinical Research within the Fetal Medicine Unit and Maternity Department.
Research Midwife Post
The Midwives role would be to contribute to all current research projects within FMU which includes:
• Identifying potential research participants and providing patient information
• Co-ordinating research study procedures and collecting and analysing data
• You will support in NIHR Portfolio Studies within FMU working autonomously as part of MDT Team
• Presenting and updating the wider team on current studies
As part of your development we offer comprehensive training and ongoing support and strongly encourage continual professional development.
You must be able to demonstrate that you have a solid understanding of ICH, GCP, guidelines. Also the EU Directive on Clinical Research and Research Governance as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
Part time/Full time can be considered
