A unique opportunity has arisen to work within the acute Dietetic service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, a world class teaching hospital with state-of-the-art facilities for modern patient care. The research park on which the hospital sits also contains the newly opened Quadram Institute for Biosciences (Formerly known as The Institute of Food Research) which the hospital has close links.

You would be joining a large dietetic department with over 60 staff. The post holder would be based within the adult acute team, consisting of 17 dietitians and 2 dietetic assistants.

The hospital is within walking distance from the University of East Anglia which boasts some of the best open-access sporting facilities in the country and is situated within acres of green space. It’s just a short journey from the historic city of Norwich – renowned for its open-air markets, cathedrals and rich cultural community. Living and working in Norfolk provides access to beautiful beaches, rich countryside and affordable housing with excellent transport links to London. Successful applicants will have an opportunity to build on their skills post registration as part of a team of specialists who will support their development. There will be full support and mentorship provided by an experienced Dietitian to complete a preceptorship and to consolidate Dietetic skills in general medical, surgical, older person’s medicine, cardiology, respiratory, neurology and orthopaedic wards. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in patient talks and general outpatient clinics. Innovation and involvement in research and audit is encouraged and appropriate job planning will ensure appropriate time available. The rotational part of the post will provide opportunity to gain significant specialist knowledge, supporting teams such as renal, gastroenterology, stroke, critical care, oncology and cystic fibrosis.

Our service also supports flexible working to encourage a healthy work life balance.

This full time rotational post will be suitable for current students who graduate this winter or existing band 5 Dietitians looking to further develop their skills.

Applicants should be motivated, enthusiastic and prepared to work flexibly in a busy ward-based environment.

Full time: 37.5 hours per week
