This is a very exciting time for Cancer Services at UCH. Situated in the West End of London, we are a large cancer centre providing many specialist treatments and we are also the regional sarcoma centre. The new Macmillan Cancer Centre opened in April 2012 providing ambulatory care and support to cancer patients in an environment which supports well-being and offers the highest standards of care.

We are expanding our senior inpatient nursing team to meet the increasing demands of the busy inpatient environment. As a Senior Staff Nurse you are expected to be motivated, innovative, creative and able to lead change. You will help develop the ward team and support junior members of staff. Therefore you must have high nursing standards and be able act as a clinical role model to all staff. As part your role you will be expected to develop a specialist area of interest and lead projects if required.

The post holder is line managed by the Sister/Charge Nurse and is expected to work closely with the Matron for oncology and other senior colleagues within a very supportive and innovative nursing team. We have a reputation for running a dynamic nurse led, patient centred service, where research, ideas and individuals are valued. We actively encourage staff development through education programmes and in-house training.

You will need to have a minimum of 2 years relevant clinical cancer experience.
