St Mary’s Hospital

We are seeking to recruit one full time Locum Consultant to the anaesthetic team at Imperial College Hospital NHS Trust based at St Mary’s Hospital. St Mary’s Hospital is a leading Major Trauma Centre situated in London that treats in excess of 2,500 adult and paediatric trauma patients per year from diverse backgrounds.

The successful applicant will join a team of circa 35 whole time equivalent consultants and around 25 trainee anaesthetists. We have several clinical fellows who have an academic day per week to increase academic, research and audit output.

The successful applicant will gain experience in a wide variety of specialties, and every effort will be made to tailor that experience to their specialist interest. Experience in major trauma, vascular and general surgery or ophthalmology highly desirable. The successful applicant may join a 1:10 general on-call rota. The job is paid as 10 PA’s per week, 9 DCC and 1 SPA.

The post is for 6 months initially (covering a career break) and is available to start in early 2019. The successful candidate may also be invited to remain in post for a further 6 to 12 months.

Applicants are required to have full GMC registration/license and inclusion on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council. Applicants from people who wish to work less than full time are happily considered.
