St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and competent Band 7 Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to join our expanding team. The trust is one of the largest healthcare providers in southwest London. The main site, St. George’s Hospital in Tooting, which is one of the country’s principal teaching hospitals, is shared with St. George’s, University of London.

You will join a team comprising 8-9 Infection Prevention and Control Nurses, with strong support from both the Infection Prevention and Control Doctor and Directors of Infection Prevention and Control. We have a full and comprehensive programme and are committed to working towards zero tolerance of Healthcare Associated Infections

You will work proactively and reactively to provide leadership and direction within your division and across the organisation. You will act as a resource and role model to motivate staff, acting autonomously but with direction from the lead nurse and deputy DIPC. You must have excellent academic and clinical skills in this specialist field as well as good skills in leadership, communication, education and service development. You will also have at least two years’ experience of working within an Infection Prevention and Control team. Please do not apply unless you fulfil the job specification.
