Medway Maternity Services support approximately 5,000 women and babies per annum. We are forward thinking with motivated staff who strive to improve the quality of the service that we offer to our women, their babies and their families. We have achieved and sustained Baby Friendly Initiative Stage 2 and are now working to achieve level three, and provide professional development opportunities for all levels of staff.
The successful post holder will be expected to work shifts (including night duty and on calls) and rotate across all areas. The successful applicants will receive a comprehensive orientation programme and are assured that they will receive appropriate support.
As an Midwife you will ensure that you are accountable for the overall provision of excellent care and provide evidenced based woman centred midwifery care which can be delivered in a variety of models.
The Midwife will work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team including obstetric and medical teams, social services and allied health professionals.
The role will offer you the opportunity to work in all areas of the maternity services, including Community, the Maternity Led-Unit, Delivery Suite, Fetal Medicine and Post/Antenatal Wards.
In additional, for newly qualified Midwives we offer an exciting preceptorship package from our dedicated learning development team. After completion of preceptorship or as a Band 6 orientation programme you may have the opportunity to join one of our exciting specialist teams.
