Data Governance Consultant
Location: London, EC2A 2AP.
Salary: Negotiable, DOE.
Contract: Full time, permanent.
DTSQUARED is an independent consultancy with deep expertise in data and data governance. Our consultants help to set strategy - implement, shape and guide programs; they are the business and technical resources to mine and integrate metadata using the industry standard tools, and tailor support packages for data governance and quality tools. We specialise in financial services and are proud to work with clients such as Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Lloyds and UBS.
We are almost 5 years old based in newly refurbished offices in Liverpool Street. We pride ourselves on our staff culture of knowledge sharing, putting clients first and all working towards the same goals. We are looking for people who are passionate about data, and passionate about excellence in the delivery of their work. We are currently expanding and are therefore looking for a range of levels of Consultant from Lead to Analyst. We reward hard work and have a start-up style culture, whilst working mostly with large corporate clients.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for understanding and interpreting, or deriving, requirements for development to understand future enhancements and new functionalities.
• Stakeholder management at all business levels, both technical and business side
• Data profiling, data analysis and manipulation
• Change control and issue management within project context
• Producing technical documentation for requirements, testing development and definition
• Engineer solutions within technical stack in line with organisational strategy
• Providing strategic leadership, guiding use and development for IT and the business
• Monitor and control project activities to ensure on time and on budget delivery
• Ensure timely troubleshooting and resolution of incidents
• Present methodologies, best practice and solutions to individuals and groups
• Tool configuration and use within data management technology stack
• Be a professional DTSQUARED representative at all times
Experience Required:
• Experience in, and the desire to continue a career in: data management standards, data governance practices, data quality, data strategy, data profiling, reference data management and business glossarisation
• Experience in a Data focused role: e.g. data steward, data focused consultancy, data governance lead etc
• Data model familiarity from contextual through logical to physical
• Ability to discuss and visualize concepts in abstract form
• Strong data manipulation skills
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Desire to take on new concepts and adapt to requirements
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with the MS Office Suite, MS Project and Visualization tools.
• Likely degree educated in computer science, mathematics, or other scientific discipline.
Desired experience
• Experience in Financial Services and regulatory driven projects (GDPR, BCBS239 etc)
• Experience in a Consultancy.
• Experience with Collibra
