We are recruiting a Clinical / Forensic Psychologist to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract. We can offer flexible hours between 30-40 per week, Monday to Friday.

Cygnet Hospital Derby provides low secure and mental health rehabilitation services based on the Recovery Model. Service users have access to external secure courtyards, and therapy and leisure facilities, including a fully equipped gym, art room, IT classroom and therapy kitchen, which contribute to a comprehensive package of care.

In this role you will:

• Provide a high quality psychology service to patients across the hospital, whose ability to cope with the tasks of living are threatened or impaired by developmental deficits, emotional, psychological and social problems, and the effects of economic and cultural barriers
• Assist in assessing and developing the psychological services and therapy needs of Cygnet Hospital Derby
• Oversee the work of the Psychology staff by delegating and reviewing work assignments, establishing priorities, and resolving work problems
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to. To assist in the updating of local documentation in consultation with fellow colleagues in accordance with company guidelines, CQC legislation and current research
• Be responsible for the Psychological needs of an identified number of patients either directly or indirectly via supervising junior staff

We are looking for people who have:

• A Doctorate Level Qualification (or equivalent) in Clinical or Forensic Psychology along with HCPC Registration
• Experience of working with a variety of adult patient groups, ideally within adult mental health
• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity
• Knowledge of psychological assessment and formulation in healthcare, as well as planning and delivering psychological interventions
• Previous Managerial / Supervisory experience
• Experience of various psychological therapies/models, risk assessment, training and supervision is desirable
• The ability to work independently and as part of a therapies team
